MySpace starlet Lily Allen came to fame via the Internet, so of course it's fitting her debut fashion collection will have a cyber start. The British High Street retailer New Look launched a web site spotlighting Allen's inspirations for the line, which launches May 9. Lily is steering clear of the super slick look used by her celebrity rival Kate Moss, who's Topshop line will launch May 1, 2007. Lily, instead is opting for a more girlish approach. Sketches of dresses are pasted alongside a pink, padlocked journal, titled "Lily's Diary," which is adorned with hearts and skull and crossbones. Ms. Allen's pieces include a strapless ruffled chiffon dress, red ruffled prom dress in floral prints, and a floor-length sundress with Allen's song titles embroidered onto it. The collection, which will launch in New Look stores in the U.K., France, Dubai and Kuwait and other markets. It will retail from $24 for sneakers to $110 for a chiffon dress. Allen is also set to host a party May 8 at New Look's Oxford Street flagship to launch the line. Another Rock Star hits the fashion scene.
