Heiress Nicky Hilton Launching Hotel in Miami

Blondeheiress.com sources have learned that Nicky Hilton is launching a chain of hotels next year. The first hotel in the Nicky O chain is in the art deco Breakwater building on Ocean Drive, in Miami, where Bruce Webber shot the Calvin Klein Obsession perfume campaign in the 1980s. It is expected to open this February, with less then 100 rooms this celebrity A List Hotel is sure to be the jet setters destination in 2007. And in case you are wondering the O stands for Nicky's middle name, Olivia. Nicky expects to have at least 10 hotels internationally, all with the boutique feel.
Some suites will be designed by Nicky's favorite design houses, including Roberto Cavalli, Fendi and Heatherette. The hotel heiress will also design special private suites. If you like the look, you’re in luck as everything in the room will be for sale. The hotel will fuse celebrity culture, fashion and shopping - and a bed for the night all under one roof.

The hotels are not affiliated to the family's international Hilton business. Nicky will have a
hands-on approach with the hotels and her favorite gardenia scent will linger
through them. Nicky wants to do it on her own - albeit helped by her multimillion-dollar
inheritance. The chain is being developed on a condominium basis, meaning owners can rent
suites when not in use, so you can be sure to run into some of the traveling jet set if you rent a
room. Interested in buying into the hotel? The leopard-skin heavy Cavalli suite will only set
you back $10.5 million.

Fall 2006 Black Nail Polish Trend

  • Sitting in the waiting area to have my summer polish removed from my feet (among other things I won’t go into), I pick up a copy of Us Magazine and start thumbing through to see what this weeks crop of starlets were wearing. To my horror, the trend that is popping up on hands all over Hollywood- and I don’t mean Nicole Richie’s veins- is black nail polish. This morbid color is usually found in the Halloween isle at drugstores and can now be found at Chanel counters nationwide. As a fashion devotee, I rarely disagree with anything 7th Ave. tells me to wear. Not a fan of looking like I closed my hand in a car door, this is one trend that Fashion Ave. can keep. I prefer a nice silver or grey polish, which is still edgy for fall without invoking thoughts of gangrenous limbs. Just as I wonder who on earth, other than 100 lb. actresses who enjoy looking like they have dirty nails, would actually ask for black polish in the salon, two teenage girls appear looking like they were on their way to lunch at The Ivy. In a voice that resembles one part valley girl and two parts Minnie Mouse, the ringleader opens her oversized Louis Vuitton (the one Jessica Simpson is photographed carrying on page 76) and pulls out Chanel’s sold-out-everywhere black polish. I guess I will be the only one doing Ballet Slippers this season- unless I slam my finger in a car door. Contributing Chicago Blogger Member: Erin Weinger
